Principles and characteristics

Due to the excellent mid to high frequency noise reduction performance of resistive mufflers, their low-frequency noise reduction performance is poor and difficult to improve. In contrast, expansion and resonance mufflers have better noise reduction performance at low to medium frequencies, and their high-frequency noise reduction effect is generally poor. If the two noise reduction principles of resistance and impedance are combined into one type of muffler, satisfactory noise reduction effects can be achieved over a wide frequency range. Therefore, various composite mufflers are designed and applied in ventilation and air conditioning systems for noise reduction, as well as in many other aerodynamic equipment for noise reduction, and even in exhaust venting noise reduction.

Classification of Impedance Compound Muffler

we will introduce several commonly used Impedance Compound Muffler.

  • Resistive and resonant composite muffler
  • Impedance composite muffler

Muffler purpose

A muffler is a device that not only allows airflow to pass smoothly but also effectively reduces noise. Alternatively, a muffler is an airflow duct with a sound-absorbing lining or a special structural form that can effectively reduce noise.
